The Transplant Trots are independently run not for profit running & walking events held across Canada. Each Transplant Trot is organized by a group of local volunteers on behalf of the Canadian Transplant Association.
The Transplant Trot’s were created to:
- celebrate life after transplant for organ and tissue recipients
- increase organ & tissue donation awareness in our communities and across Canada
- increase the number of registered organ & tissue donors in Canada

All funds raised for the Transplant Trot events first go toward paying for the event and the remainder of the money raised (if any) goes to the Canadian Transplant Association (CTA).
The first Transplant Trot was held by Mark Black and the New Brunswick Branch of the CTA, sponsored by the Running Room, paypal binary options brokers they have now held their 8th Annual Transplant Trot in the Greater Moncton Area to celebrate National Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Week with over 100 participants. The event, a 5K or 10K walk or run, is held at the Moncton Press Club on 160 Assumption Blvd. with the intention of raising a minimum of $1,000.
If you are unable to participate in a Transplant Trot, the easiest way to get involved is to become an organ donor. In most Canadian provinces you can register directly online. Check out the “Be A Donor” page on the CTA website for how to register in your province/territory. In 2015 the Transplant Trot expanded to 11 cities, and we are now up to 12 events across Canada. It is our hope that it will continue to grow and that every major city in Canada will host a Transplant Trot. The Canadian Transplant Association (CTA) is a charitable organization (Charitable tax No. 13181 5862 RR0001) that includes transplant recipients and others who are committed to identifying and removing barriers to organ donation. The CTA encourages and motivates transplant recipients to maintain a healthy lifestyle by supporting athletic and other awareness events.
The CTA was created in 1987 to raise awareness about organ donation and celebrate the success of transplants in saving lives.
We are a registered charity comprised of transplant recipients, athletes, and volunteers dedicated to promoting organ donation through public advocacy and events, including the National Transplant Games and World Transplant Games.
